The JamesValé Recruitment Mission & Vision:


After being in recruitment for many years starting as a Recruitment Consultant to becoming a General Manager. I was able to see how recruitment agencies worked. How the fee’s that are being charged for the work that we did just did not compare. During my time, while speaking with many business owners about recruitment, 80% of them would tell me how they would love to use recruiters as it would help them and their business with saving so much time, however they just couldn’t afford to keep paying $10k, $15k or $20k fees every time they needed someone. A lot of the time business owners would hate the thought of recruitment agencies and recruiters in general because of the fees.


To give you an example I had a meeting with a client to recruit for a General Manager of his business. The client went through his brief with me and after an hour and a half, we discussed fee’s I got him across the line at 14% fees ($150,000 Package) which worked out to be a $21,000 placement. Before I even walked out of the meeting, I knew exactly which candidate I was going to put through, as he had the required skill set that they had just explained to me. I went back to the office contacted the candidate and spoke with him about the position. He was super keen, however after I spoke with the Director of the company I was working for, he advised me to wait a week before I went back to my client with the candidate, as he explained that I needed to look like I had spent some time doing stuff. A week later I presented my candidate to him, arranged an interview and the rest is history. My client loved him, my candidate got the job and my boss got $21k richer, I got a pat on the back and everyone was happy.


Throughout the process of placing candidates within various industries, it was soon thereafter that I decided enough was enough and I could not continue to charge these fees for a job that due to our technology advances has been made so much easier. Of course, the above example was exceptional and it’s not always that easy to place. But with computers, internet and phones, the recruitment process has been made so much quicker. Who even needs a fax machine any more. Back in the dark ages as a recruiter, they would call their client on our landline, take a brief over the phone or have the client fax a brief. There were no job boards such as seek.com.au or indeed.com.au to post vacancies on, so the candidates would have to attend job fairs and hand in their paper resume, which would then be scanned into an internal database with limited search process tools that would take hours trying to find a suitable candidate. As you can see the search process took a long time with many hours invested, hence the reason for the large fees.

With today’s technology, we have our clients email a brief for the advertisement, we post it to multiple Job boards, social media and our website. We have access to millions of candidates both nationally and globally at the tip of our fingers, where we can search for a multitude of candidates that match the brief, from you the industry expert. If a candidate is not available to interview in person, we can set up a video interview within minutes. No matter what agency, we all have the same recruitment tools at our disposal and whether a senior or entry level recruiter that invests everything they can to finding the best candidate for your role, we are all able to do it quicker. The only real difference is the fees and that’s what sets a company like ours apart.


Our main aim is to help businesses flourish and succeed, to partner with business as a part of their hiring team and by not working against them as a lot of agencies and company owners do because of the price that’s involved. If a recruiter has an approach to look after the company he is working with, that company will grow and produce more business for the recruiter. When a company has successful employees, they succeed and so does the recruiter.
